Ragen Village, South West Kenya Samson and Jane Ojienda are standing beside the 25,000 litre water tank that was made possible through donations to AFOA. It is one of only two sources of potable water in the Ragen community, comprising some 10,000 families. AFOA was also able to complete the installation of a water pump in the village (see photo below), providing the first clean water supply to the village. Recent donations have allowed for the purchase of some cows, the installation of solar panels to provide power for lighting etc and the construction of some buildings in the Baptist community where Samson and Jane look after a number of orphaned children.
These are the orphaned children being cared for in Ragen Village. AFOA has been able to secure sponsorship for every child at $30 a month. Much more is needed as thousands of children are orphaned every day. To sponsor a child go to Childsponsor.htm |
